Winter Sunsets

I took a walk after sunset today and saw the most gorgeous sky. Turner-like dramatic clouds against a violet blue backdrop that was half magical, half serene.

Look!

In a way, the ubiquity of these photos on Instagram has cheapened the experience.

Another #sunset. How special.

For a while they felt too clichéd.

Instabait. Eyeroll.

When you relinquish skepticism and let yourself enjoy the experience, they truly are magnificent.

The textures of the clouds.

The greys, beiges, and bright tufts in the sky illuminated by the last light.

You just have to look to see.
